Welcome to HMH Designs + Blog

PHEW!  It's been nearly a year since our last blog post and boy things have changed!  We've slowed down on our home projects because we want things to happen organically, instead of rushing to find a new project to share and then it's not something we want to live with long term.  Also, we started making custom furniture and it really took off, but my husband's heart wasn't in it.  Which was a surprise because business was good and it gave him the freedom he had been looking for, but you can't force something that's not there so we just stopped taking orders....literally just STOPPED!  I was so upset that I stopped responding to all of the emails I received for new orders because my dream for us was shut down and the money right along with it.

After some deep conversations about what our long term goals were with the business, the blog, and the lifestyle that we want to live he has had a change of heart and we are now accepting new orders.  I can't even express in words how happy my heart is.

Now it is extremely important for our business and the blog to be repackaged into something that better represents our brand. So be on the lookout for some changes on the blog.  Not much will change except hopefully you will see more from us moving forward and you'll get a better site to browse.

I'm excited about this new chapter in our life!  Thanks again for reading and being apart of this milestone.

We're Still Alive + Well | An Update

Yes we're still alive!  I know its been a while since our last post, but we've been busy making tables for clients.  Can you believe it?!  I certainly can't!  We never even got a chance to share our dining room makeover, which by the way is not complete and we're now on our third table.

Here's a photo of our first dining room table that we made out of pallets which was a HUGE hit with our readers...

It went through several different stages before we parted ways.

Then came my lust over a Restoration Hardware piece that carried a hefty price tag that my husband wouldn't let me purchase.

So, long story short he made me one...

I loved this table, but a client loved it more so we sold it!  We then made us a truss style table, similar to this one that we made for another client.

Photos of our dining room update are coming soon!  As well as some projects that I've been working on.  Like a makeover of the awesome set of campaign furniture that I scored on Craigslist for only $50!

And the two tufted headboards is got for just $25...I've been having some luck on Craigslist lately!

Watch out because you have a lot to look forward to!

HMH Designs | Now Making Custom Farmhouse Tables

I know that I said that I was back...and I am, but I've been extremely busy and I haven't had time to sit down and blog about anything.  Life is really crazy right now!  It all started with the farmhouse table we made for our dining room, and now we're swamped with multiple orders.  Making tables has taken up a lot of my free time,  that I would typically spend blogging and working on my own projects.

I mean I have a touch of OCD and my stairs still look like this....

But the good news is my interior design business and our custom furniture has really taken off.  So when I get a moment I will sit down and write a real post.  Until then...
