BaliWood + $100 Blinds.com Giveaway

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

I am officially tooting the horn of Blinds.com.  We teamed up with Blinds.com to bring this project to you and we couldn't be happier!  We had been contemplating how we were going to recover the window at our back door for a while now, and we couldn't agree on anything!  When we were contacted by Blinds.com, we checked out their website and couldn't believe how many different products they had to offer.

I immediately went to Pinterest to see what I had previously pinned to my House Made Home board and found these bamboo beauties!

So I began my search through all of the bamboo and woven shades that Blinds.com had to offer.  As we all know I like customizing anything I can and doing it on a budget, so I was excited when I ran across the Bali Economy Woven Wood Shades.  I like bamboo shades when they are raised and have a hobbled look (the shade retains soft folds or "loops"), but I wanted that look while the shades were fully extended and the Bali shades offered this option.  We were also able to add edge banding which tightly seals the edges to protect against fraying and adds color, which again added to that custom look we were going for.  In the end we went with the Cabo Tortoise shade, hobbled, with 2" edge banding, and a privacy liner.  Now all we had to do was wait!!

Waiting was the hardest part...literally!  Shipping was fairly quick though, it only took about a week to get our order and I couldn't wait to install them.

We were able to remove our old blinds and reuse the existing holes to screw in the brackets.

Securing the shade was a breeze! All we had to do was place the wing nut on the post and tighten the nut until it was snug against the headrail. It took less than 5 minutes to install!

Can you believe that something that only took less than 5 minutes made such a huge difference? We're in LOVE with our new shades...and are now thinking about installing these in our dining room as well.  Stay tuned for that! ;)

  4. Blinds and shades are like curtains. They improved the appearance of window and keep sunlight from view for privacy purposes.
